Wechseln der Dynamik und häufigen klanglichen und textlichen
Kontrasten.
Muellers Interpretation von Carlo Domeniconis „Koyunbaba“ ist
ohne Frage die beeindruckendste und bahnbrechendste, die ich je
gehört habe.
Und obwohl Mueller nicht davor zurückschreckt, mit seiner
Gitarre bis ans Limit zu gehen, geniesst er auch die zarten
Passagen. In seinen gefühlvollen Momenten erlaubt sich Mueller
grosse Freiheiten mit der Musik, indem er Phrasierungsbögen
kunstvoll ausdehnt und jede einzelne Note mit Ausdruck spielt.
Selbst wenn Mueller traditionellere Werke wie Fernando Sors op.
9 spielt, kommen sein mutiger und emotionsgeladener Stil zur
Geltung. Muellers Ziel war es offensichtlich, eine CD
aufzunehmen, die genau so berauschend ist wie seine
Live-Konzerte – und das ist ihm gelungen.

technique is distinctly aggressive and broad, with
sweepingdynamic changes, and frequently tonal and textural
juxtapositions. Mueller’s interpretation of Carlo Domeniconi’s
„Koyunbaba“ is without question the most powerful and
groundbreaking I have ever heard.
And while Mueller is not afraid to push his guitar to its
limits, he also revels in the delicate moments. At this most
sensitive, Mueller takes extreme liberty with the music,
artfully exten-ding his phrases and delicately delivering every
individual note. Even when Mueller plays more traditional works
like Fernando Sor’s op.9 his daring and emotionally charged
playing shines through. Mueller clearly set out, and succeeded,
to record a disc that is just as exhilara-ting as his live
performances; this is one that’s definitively worth the price of
